Screw Foundations UK delivered a complete foundation package for this light gauge steel (LGS) extension, providing a site-specific helical pile design alongside the full supply and installation of our engineered screw pile system.

Following a detailed assessment of the existing terrace gravel strata, our engineering team designed a bespoke pile layout to support the lightweight steel superstructure while ensuring long-term stability and minimal ground disturbance.

Scope of Works Delivered

  • Site-specific helical pile design, including load modelling for LGS construction
  • Supply and installation of all helical piles
  • Pile head fabrication and installation, ready for LGS connection
  • Full installation works completed by our in-house team
  • Torque monitoring and QA documentation for structural assurance

Pile Specification

The extension was supported using our 89R helical pile range, installed to a depth of:

  • 4 metres into dense terrace gravel

This depth was selected to achieve the required torque values and ensure each pile engaged competent bearing strata suitable for the load paths of a light gauge steel frame.
